A Wonderful Weekend

This past weekend we went to visit a family we recently met at a conference. They are so sweet. Tim is apprenticing with the father and he has been enjoying it very much. On Saturday we arrived at their lovely home around noon and spent the day getting to know each other better. The children are absolutely adorable and eventually warmed up to our family. On Sunday morning our family worshiped with them at their church. A meal was provided by the church before we made our way back home. Tim is still with them and will be coming home on Saturday. We miss him very much, but we know he is learning amazing skills that will help him in the future. However we didn't take many pictures, but we did get a few at church. To sum it all up we had a wonderful weekend and we enjoyed getting to visit with such a godly family. Here are some pictures...

The Long Awaited Day Arrives!!

This past week we celebrated mom and dad's birthday. Since
mom was going to be turning 50, dad wanted to
have a surprise party for her. Everything was kind
of coming together, but some things were still up in the air.
Dad invited a couple families. He wanted to keep it small so
someone could host it at their home. So the week arrived
and we didn't know where it was going to be, but the Lord was
gracious to us and our good friends the Tavares' held the
entire party at their home and everyone brought a dish to
share. It turned out that the party was on mom's actual
birthday so she kind of suspected something, but dad
planned the whole thing and us kids called everyone up
and told them to make it for him too; since his birthday is only
two day after. The plans were made and I think everyone
enjoyed their time.

Every year the farmer a few minutes from our house does a
corn maze and each year it is a different theme.
This years theme was farm animals.

Before we went through the maze we split up into
three groups the boys, the girls, and the adults.
Then we raced to see what team could
complete it first.

The field is two acres and there are two phases
the first phase is smaller than the second one
and both phases have a wooden bridge.

A Pilgrim March

When the Pilgrims came over to the new world it was difficult to get started. Only 51 people survived the first winter. Since 1921 people have remembered those who have survived by marching the streets of Plymouth, dressed as Pilgrims. Our family was able to be apart of this tradition. Every Friday in August and on Thanksgiving, this march takes place. It was a neat experience to be a part of. Here are a few pictures.
